INTRODUCING KEDRUM BESS
A new battery energy storage system (BESS) is being proposed by RE Projects Development Ltd (REPD) on land to the south of Alehouse Hillock, Cairnie, Huntly, AB54 4UB.
Kedrum BESS will be able to store and release energy from the electricity network. It will have a storage capacity of approximately 150 megawatts (MW) and provide energy security to the local grid during times of peak demand.
Kedrum BESS will offer energy security benefits, biodiversity and landscaping enhancements. Our technical team includes ecology, landscape and visual, noise, planning, and transport specialists who are helping us to design a sensitive and sustainable development.
RE Projects Development Ltd will hold Pre-Application Consultation events later in 2026 to share details of the scheme with the community and gather feedback. Neighbours to the project will be notified about these events via postal mail, if you wish to be notified via email please complete the form via the button below.
